Delivering automotive parts despite border closures
Multiple freight forwarders contacted our team in South-East Asia with urgent charter requests after escalating tensions led to border closures between Thailand and Cambodia in May 2025. With manufacturers struggling to move automotive parts across the border by road, air transportation was needed in order to keep supply chains running. We got straight to work on a solution to avoid costly production line shut-downs.
Our Solution
Route: Bangkok > Phnom Penh > Bangkok
Aircraft: Boeing 737s & Boeing 747s
Faced with simultaneous requests from three different automotive clients, we knew several freighters would be required in order to assist them all at short notice.
Limited availability meant we couldn’t charter the number of aircraft required from a single airline, so we leveraged our industry contacts to source options from multiple operators. The charters ran smoothly and the urgent cargo was delivered well within the deadline.
Demand for freight charters intensified as the border remained closed, with our team arranging almost 100 charters for over 5,000 tonnes of cargo during the summer of 2025.
