Flying investors between mining sites

We were contacted by a gold mining company about an investors’ trip they were planning. The group had a busy schedule of meetings and site inspections in Ghana and Egypt, with the exact dates and times changing frequently as organisers tried to fit everything into the itinerary. We set about designing a flexible air charter solution to smoothly transport the 25 passengers between locations.

Our Solution

Routes:

Accra > Kumasi
Kumasi > Cairo (via Accra)
Cairo > Marsa Alam > Cairo

Aircraft:

Airbus A320
Dash 8 Q400

Our teams in Africa and the Middle East collaborated on this multi-leg charter, liaising across different time zones to plan a seamless itinerary.

Due to cabotage restrictions, we had to use domestic operators for flights within the same country. Leveraging our industry relationships, we sourced a narrow-body airliner for each sector, negotiating competitive rates with national carriers who could quickly secure permits.

The client appreciated our local knowledge and attention to detail when planning the trip. For example, we knew commercial aircraft couldn’t operate at one of their requested airports, recommending an alternative option located near their mine. We also suggested routing the flight to Egypt through Accra to reduce the cost of clearing customs and immigration.

The Finer Details

Flexible Solution: We worked closely with the operators to accommodate changes to the route and dates of the trip.

Flight Representation: One of our team was on the ground to assist with the group’s departure, ensuring the trip got off to a smooth start.
