Delivering 60 tonnes of urgent oil and gas equipment
An oil and gas loading equipment supplier needed our help getting an urgent 60-tonne shipment from Belgium to Egypt. With sea freight unable to get the cargo there within the client’s deadline, an aircraft charter was the only way of delivering the heavy and outsized load in time, so we set about coming up with a seamless solution.

Aircraft: Antonov An-124
Our cargo experts knew an Antonov An-124 was the best freighter for the job, due to its large payload and outsized handling capabilities. Despite limited availability, we leveraged our long-standing operator relationships to source the aircraft, before coordinating with local agents to secure the necessary permits, clearances and customs clearance on both ends.
Specialist handling was required for the high-value shipment, which included loading arms, hydraulic components and installation gear. With many pieces measuring over 18 metres in length, we arranged a 160-tonne crane to help load the bulkier cargo under the close supervision of airport handlers and our on-site rep.
With such a high volume of equipment, our specialist team split the consignment into two duplicate loads. Working over one full day to load the first set, the team came back the next night to load the second; working meticulously to ensure that the bulky cargo could be delivered to meet the tight deadline.
Thanks to our meticulous planning, everything went without a hitch and the shipment was delivered within our client’s timeframe.
