Arranging a lease for an African airline
An African airline in need of extra capacity reached out to us regarding a six-month aircraft lease for one of their routes. As the client was a national carrier, they were considering proposals from several lessors before seeking government approval for their preferred candidate. Rising to the challenge of their formal tender process, we were determined to win the contract.
Our Solution
Type of Lease: Wet
Aircraft: Airbus A320-200
The client had very specific requirements for the aircraft’s type, age and configuration, which meant there were only a limited number of aircraft available to lease for the required time period. Still confident we could find the perfect solution, we reached out to our suppliers and quickly secured an Airbus A320-200 that ticked every box. With the aircraft confirmed, our experts then prepared a detailed proposal that showcased our unrivalled expertise.
After successfully winning the tender, we worked with the European lessor and African lessee to iron out the finer details – a complex task, as the client was required to use a government-approved contract instead of the lessee’s standard document. Our diligent team worked tirelessly to navigate the process, liaising closely with both parties and ensuring everyone was kept fully up to date.
The Finer Details
Attention to Detail: We assisted with reconfiguring the aircraft into two classes and applying the airline’s livery to the exterior.
Trusted Experts: Our service and expertise led to the client awarding us a 12-month extension to the lease, as well as the possibility of adding a second aircraft.
