Shanghai Pudong International Airport
Pudong International Airport is a major international passenger and cargo airport in Shanghai, China. It is located approximately 30 km from the city centre, and is one of two international airports which serve the area. Pudong International Airport opened in 1999, after expansion to the already existing Hongqiao International Airport was deemed unsuitable. Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, has now become a secondary airport, primarily used for regional flights. Shanghai Pudong International Airport is connected to the city via metro, rail, and airport bus services. Passengers can also travel by road, with expressways connecting to the airport.
The airport has two terminals, both are shaped like a seagull. VIP lounges can be found within both terminals past security. In the main departures areas, passengers can enjoy an array of shops, restaurants and bars. The terminals are bordered by five parallel runways which are capable of handling aircraft up to the size of Airbus A380.
