A last-minute helicopter charter was needed for the group of eight.

Flying executives to view a gas pipeline in Texas

Our Houston office was contacted by a major U.S. energy company, who needed a last-minute helicopter charter to fly a group of eight executives to view a natural gas pipeline they were building. The client’s usual operator, who we’d worked with before, was unable to help on this occasion and had recommended our services. Our experts set about finding a solution at short notice.

Our Solution

Routes: Across sites in Texas

Aircraft: Bell 412

Helicopter availability was limited for this charter as there were only two operators located within 350 miles of the pipeline, one of which was fully booked on the date of the trip.

Thanks to our strong relationship with the remaining operator, we were still able to source two aircraft – a Bell 412 and a Eurocopter EC225 Super Puma – within just a few hours.

Both helicopters were a good size for the group and available at a competitive price. Our experts talked through each option with the client, who decided to proceed with the Bell 412.

Everything ran seamlessly on the day of the charter, with the group departing smoothly and arriving at the pipeline in good time.

The Finer Details

Industry Relationships: Being familiar with the operator enabled us to secure the ideal helicopter despite low availability in the region.
