Arranging a film producer’s family trip to Alaska
We were contacted by the executive assistant of a film producer, who was planning a vacation with extended family to Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska. The client had already sought a quote from a competitor to transport the group on two separate flights from California, with 30 boarding a jet from Los Angeles and 10 others taking a scheduled service from San Francisco. We set about finding a better solution for their needs.
Our Solution
Routes:
Los Angeles > San Francisco > Gustavus
Juneau > San Francisco > Los Angeles
Aircraft: Embraer ERJ-145
Knowing we could top the client’s previous quote, we suggested flying everyone together on a commercial jet. Many of the guests hadn’t seen each other in some time and would appreciate the opportunity to catch up during the journey, while having the use of a private terminal would make for a smoother airport experience – especially as there were a number of children in the group.
Reaching out to our operator contacts, we quickly sourced a 50-seat jet with a significantly better margin, which could depart from Los Angeles and pick up the remaining passengers in San Francisco en route to Alaska. The client hadn’t been told the long-distance trip required a fuel stop, so we brought her up to speed and tied this in with collecting the second set of guests to ensure no inconvenience was caused.
