TRAVEL DURING CORONAVIRUS

WE’RE EXPLORING INNOVATIVE WAYS TO GIVE YOU PEACE OF MIND WHEN YOU TRAVEL.

As the new reality of life with COVID-19 sets in, and as travel restrictions start to ease, you will want to book travel once more. When you do, we understand that you will want to know that you and your people are well looked after, and that the risk of infection is minimised as much as it possibly can be.

We’re taking this seriously. So much so that we created a new team, our Covid-19 protocol service, in order to explore and deliver where possible on the best practice measures and guidance throughout the customer experience when chartering through ACS.

THE NEW NORMAL WHEN TRAVELING: A GUIDE TO POSSIBLE MEASURES AND OUR TRAVEL GUIDANCE.

To make things simple, we’ve looked at the customer journey, and broken things up into 4 stages.

PREPARATION

POSSIBLE TRAVEL MEASURES:

  • ALL BOARDING CARDS PRE-PRINTED and collected in advance by the group leader.

IMPACT: Only passengers with baggage need go to check in, reducing unnecessary crowding so adhering to social distancing.

  • ALL SEATS PRE ALLOCATED. Free seating option not advised.

IMPACT: Eases the boarding process and helps adhere to social distancing.

NEW ACS GUIDANCE:

  1. Before arriving at the airport make sure you have packed efficiently. Try to have the majority of your belongings in your hold (checked) luggage and keep your hand baggage to a minimum. Once on board the aircraft crew will be unable to assist you with stowage of items and it will help you to social distance from your fellow passengers if you limit what you store in the overhead lockers.
  2. Make sure you have your mask, gloves, miniature hand sanitizer, all-inclusive travel insurance and any applicable COIVD-19 negative tests (if required) as well as your regular passport and travel documents.
  3. If you are travelling for essential reasons please ensure you have all proof with you in case you are asked by Border Officials. We would recommend that masks and gloves are in place prior to arrival at the airport and remain in place until your final destination. If you have multiple masks and gloves for your journey please dispose of old items in bins.
  4. Before arriving at the airport double check how you will get there. Some public transportation is not running and some airports have closed certain car parks or drop off points.
  5. Make sure you eat prior to arriving at the airport, a lot of airlines are offering reduced catering due to COVID-19.

AT THE AIRPORT

POSSIBLE TRAVEL MEASURES:

  • CREATING MORE SPACE AT CHECK IN with empty desks in between each active desk.

IMPACT: Reduces unnecessary crowding and adheres to social distancing.

  • EARLY CHECK IN OPENING, 4 hours prior to departure instead of 2, and giving people allocated times to check in.

IMPACT: Reduces unnecessary crowding and adheres to social distancing.

  • ALLOCATING 1 CHECK IN DESK FOR DROP OFF ONLY.

IMPACT: Reduces unnecessary crowding and adheres to social distancing.

  • HAND SANITISER AT CHECK IN.

IMPACT: Maintaining group hygiene at every stage of the journey.

NEW ACS GUIDANCE:

  1. Allow extra time at the airport for social distancing while processing check in, security and boarding. Be prepared that there may also be some health checks in place.
  2. If the airport you are departing from are operating health checks, be prepared that if you do not pass the checks you will be denied boarding.

ON THE AIRCRAFT

  • HAND SANITISER ON BOARD.

IMPACT: Maintaining group hygiene at every stage of the journey.

  • MASKS ISSUED TO ALL PASSENGERS.

IMPACT: Maintaining group hygiene at every stage of the journey.

  • MAINTAINING EXCELLENT AIR QUALITY ON BOARD

IMPACT: HEPA filters, that remove bacteria and virus clusters, ensure cabin air is completely replaced every 2 to 3 minutes.

NEW ACS GUIDANCE:

  1. Whilst on board, try to remain in your seat at all times. If you do need to use the toilet, queuing in the aisles is prohibited and be aware some toilets may be reserved for use of the cabin crew.
  2. Avoid using the seat pockets to store your belongings.
  3. For your comfort, bring your own pillow or blanket, as many airlines are no longer offering these on long haul or overnight flights.
  4. If you wish to use the inflight entertainment, bring your own headphones. Your 1 pin headphone socket should work in the airlines 2 pin sockets, though you might only get sound from one headphone. Or charge up your tablet and download your favourite shows to watch on your own device.
  5. If the airline offers a buy on board service, only use a contactless credit / debit card. Do not use cash.

ON ARRIVAL

NEW ACS GUIDANCE:

  1. Upon arrival at your destination follow the guidance of the officials. You may be placed into quarantine if the country requires it, or if you fail a health check that is in place.
  2. Ensure that you listen to all guidance and requests from airport staff and cabin throughout the duration of your journey.
  3. Double check how you will travel from the airport to your final destination. Some public transportation is not running and some airports have closed certain car parks or pick up points.
