A last-minute charter was needed to keep a production line running.

Quickly moving 100 tonnes of dangerous goods

A logistics company tasked us with delivering 100 tonnes of UN3480 lithium ion batteries from China to a factory in Turkey. The dangerous goods were urgently needed to avoid a production line shutdown, however most carriers are reluctant to handle such hazardous cargo. Undeterred, our experts got straight to work on a speedy solution.

Our Solution

Route: Shanghai > Istanbul

Aircraft: B777F

The heavy load comprised 100 skids of lithium ion batteries, which needed to be transported on a single flight in order to meet the tight deadline. We recommended a Boeing B777F or B747F freighter for the 100-tonne payload, leveraging our operator contacts to source the B777F at short notice.

As this was the client’s first-ever charter, we sent an account manager to their office to assist in person. This allowed us to provide step-by-step guidance and ensure the operator’s handling requirements were strictly adhered to.

Our experts worked tirelessly to secure last-minute flight permits and export/import licences. The charter ran smoothly, with the cargo arriving in good time to keep production running.

The Finer Details

Rapid Response: We reacted quickly to the urgent request, providing our client with a charter quote within 24 hours.

Real-Time Updates: Staying in constant contact with the operator, we kept the client informed of the charter’s progress at all times.

Buying Power: Our industry contacts and unrivalled expertise were critical to securing the best aircraft at short notice.
