PPE, Chicago

Air Charter Service was asked to fly PPE for the employees of several major fast food chains from China to the United States during the Covid-19 pandemic, after the client struggled to confirm a charter through their usual broker. When the airline we booked through revealed at the last minute that they were unable to transport all of the freight as promised, we sprung into action to ensure the PPE was still transported on time.

OUR SOLUTION

Route: Guangzhou > Chicago

Aircraft: Various

We originally sourced a Boeing B757-200 that was competitively priced and had the capacity to accommodate the large consignment; however, the day before the flight the airline admitted it didn’t have the necessary permits to transport more than one-third of the shipment in the aircraft’s cabin. Using the combined expertise and contacts of ACS’ global network of offices, our team worked tirelessly to secure space for the remaining cargo on several scheduled and chartered flights departing for Chicago.

THE FINER DETAILS

Personalised Service 24/7: Our team worked around-the-clock to resolve the situation and meet the client’s tight deadline, keeping in contact with them throughout to provide reassurance and updates.

Insider Knowledge: The client originally wanted to fly from Shanghai, but we knew that the airport there was experiencing major handling issues due to overwhelming demand and recommended Guangzhou as an alternative.
