Delivering emergency supplies following a typhoon
In the aftermath of Typhoon Halong, thousands of families in western Alaska were displaced as communities faced severe infrastructure damage. To support relief efforts, the American Red Cross reached out to our logistics experts at ACS Time Critical, requesting the expedited delivery of cots and mattresses for emergency shelters. We got straight to work on a solution for the critical supplies.
Our Solution
Routes: Sacramento > Anchorage
Service: Trucking, next flight out
Responding immediately, we devised an integrated plan combining ground transportation and express air freight. The urgent operation required precise coordination to ensure the two pallets of cargo moved quickly through the logistics network.
The pallets were collected from the Red Cross in Sacramento and prepared for immediate transport, then trucked 450 miles overnight to San Bernardino Airport. Upon arrival at the cargo terminal, they were expedited through cargo clearance and loaded onto the next flight to Anchorage, where relief teams distributed the supplies between shelters.
