Delivering 440 tonnes of blueberries to New York City
A freight forwarder tasked us with delivering hundreds of tonnes of blueberries from Peru, a leading exporter of the fruit. The produce is normally transported in the belly of a passenger plane, but additional support was needed when the supplier’s yield exceeded capacity during peak harvest season. We got to work on a dedicated aircraft charter to deliver the surplus berries before they perished.
Our Solution
Routes: Lima > New York City
Aircraft: Boeing B747F
With the blueberries expected on supermarket shelves within 24 to 36 hours of being picked, we leveraged our operator contacts to source a freighter with immediate availability.
Our team arranged four flights over a two-week period, delivering 440 tonnes of blueberries stateside. We coordinated each charter from start to finish, liaising with ground handlers to ensure the cargo was seamlessly loaded/unloaded and transferred onto waiting trucks.
