ACS Charities
ACS has always adopted a strong moral position with regards to business operations, but did you know about our generous charity donations?
Every year, the ACS team supports a selection of chosen charities, with our dedicated Charity Committee helping to organise an array of fund raising events. All of the money raised is matched by ACS, doubling the total amount. Last year ACS Raised £12908 for its 2010 chosen charities; Wateraid, Rainbow Trust and Teenage Cancer Trust.
The 2011 Charities
Each year the ACS Charity Committee chooses a selection of different causes. ACS employees are then given the opportunity to vote for one local, one national and one international charity they would like to support. We believe, giving to philanthropic institutions that team members feel connected with, helps motivate us to raise as much as possible. This year, ACS is supporting:
Shooting Star children’s Hospice
This heart-warming charity provides support for local families with a child or teenager not expected to reach their 19th birthday. This well deserving organisation helps over 500 families living in West London, Surrey and West Sussex. The aim of this charity is to make every day count for children and teenagers with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Cancer Research
With cancer claiming approximately 7.6 million lives each year, cancer research is an exceptionally worthy cause. The charity helps to save millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent diagnose and treat this awful disease. Research is accomplished through working with over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses over the UK, to investigate all aspects of cancer. Cancer Research also provides invaluable information for cancer patients and their families, health professionals and the general public.
HEAL
Established in 1992, this large and diverse charity helps to provide homes, food, education and medical care for over 1,000 orphaned and underprivileged children in Andhra Pradesh, India. ACS has a goal of funding an I.T block as part of a new self-sustaining village in Thotapally, India. To make this happen, ACS have set an ambitious target of £12,300. Due to the continued dedication and success of the Charity Committee, ACS is already confident in achieving this.
