"I started my year’s work placement at Air Charter Service (ACS) in 2004, initially as part of the Operations Division based in Ostend Airport, Belgium before its re-location to East Midlands Airport, UK. I then moved to the ACS headquarters in London where I was assistant to Justin Bowman, now the group CEO, from whom over my last 5 months of placement, I learnt a lot about the cargo industry. After returning to Loughborough University to complete my degree in Air Transport Management, I was delighted to be offered a full-time role within ACS as a Trainee Cargo Broker in 2006. From this great opportunity I eventually worked my way up to Cargo Sales Manager, before moving over to Business Development in 2011, where I am now the Business Development Director.

Having done a work placement at ACS, I can honestly say it provides a great experience. Not only did I get to travel the world and get a feel for the aviation industry as a whole, but I also become part of a company that holds family values at its core. It gave me the opportunity to be part of team filled with industry experts, from whom I learnt vast amounts. Since my work placement year I have not looked back, and it’s been great to be a part of the company’s substantial growth from the two office’s Moscow and London, with a total of 30 employees when I first started to the 19 offices and over 300 employees we now have."

"In June 2013, after finishing my second year at the University of Portsmouth studying Business Studies, I began my placement year at Air Charter Service working in the marketing department. Having little experience before I started, I was unsure what to expect but I could not have envisaged how welcome I felt, and also importantly, how I was made to feel part of team rather than being seen as a student intern. To begin with I worked on an array of different projects across the marketing department, before focusing on email marketing. I also gained experience in digital marketing. Only a few months into the placement I knew I wanted to come back and be part of the growth of ACS after I finished my final year. This is a testament to the positive atmosphere and excellent working environment at ACS. Four years on, I have been back at Air Charter Service for over two years and am enjoying it more than ever. The work itself is enriching, challenging and evolving on a daily basis and the company are always trying new ways to improve the working environment. ACS is a great place to work and build a career and I am extremely happy that they provided me with the opportunity to come back after graduation. I look to continue to grow in my role in the company and am excited for what the future holds at ACS."
