The Life-Saving Flight
A pharmaceutical company in the USA got in touch about an urgent shipment of HIV medication needed by a gentleman in Nigeria, who only had a limited supply of the medication left. We had to pick up the shipment in New York and get it to Lagos as soon as possible to ensure he didn’t miss a dose.
US citizens cannot fly into Nigeria without a visa, and vice versa for Nigerian citizens. As we had a very small window in which to deliver the medication, we utilised couriers who had the relevant visas, and had them meet at the midway point. Our New York Operations Team picked up the package and took it to JFK airport where it flew with one of our frequent fliers to Frankfurt, where he passed it on to one of our couriers with a Nigerian visa, allowing him to then continue to Lagos and deliver the package, just 26 hours after the initial enquiry was made.
