The show must go on

A leading musician was performing in Kuwait and Cairo, but with commercial flights not tying in with his concert schedule, he needed to charter a private aircraft.

As well as having First Class tastes, the group of eight would need a jet capable of carrying all their equipment, including valuable musical instruments and sound equipment. But with the charter being funded by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, costs were in the spotlight, too.

AIRCRAFT: BOEING BBJ

ROUTE: DUBAI - KUWAIT - CAIRO - DUBAI

SOLUTION:

Aircraft and global knowledge

With the Ministry keen to shop around, the charter brief was sent out to every travel agency in Egypt. Competition was tough but our existing relationship and experience in the music industry meant we were able to source the ideal aircraft which won us the contract.

A Bombardier Global 5000 that met the singer’s requirements was found, and crew, scheduling and ground handling plans got underway. We also arranged for an ACS rep to be on board, to ensure the trip went smoothly.

Two days before the trip though, the client requested an earlier departure from Dubai. Unfortunately, the Global 5000 wasn’t available any earlier, so we had to look for an alternative aircraft.

At this point, the relationship our team had with the aircraft operator came into its own, and we worked our magic to secure a free upgrade to a larger, higher-spec Boeing Business Jet. The singer and his crew were delighted, and the trip went without a hitch.
