Conclusions
1. The Berlin Airlift changed the world
for the better by using aircraft to feed
populations in distress. A new concept.
2. Being militarily led,
it is fully documented and recorded.
3. The Biafran Airlift -
the humanitarian component has been researched
and documented by Michael Draper - his book "Shadows" is highly
recommended.
4. NGO and civilian led operations are not fully
documented and more
research needs to be done.
5. Millions of people, an uncountable
number have been saved by the use of
Freighter Aircraft by the global community responding
to their plight.
6. This response does not prevent famines,
sieges, earthquakes and civil wars.
7.
However, the Air Cargo Industry in response to such events have
become the tool or the mechanism for the world decency and
humanity.
8. The air cargo charter community, are an unrecognised
force for
good in these situations.
9. The response is fast, flexible and
effective.
10. At Air Charter Service we are proud
to have participated and gained
a recognised expertise in this field.
