Chartering for the NFL Super Bowl 50
Super Bowl 50 is on the horizon and after the latest round of knockouts, we’re starting to get excited for the big finale. We’ve taken a look at San Francisco, home of the Levi’s Stadium where the final game will take place to crown the winners of the Super Bowl.
San Francisco has long been a favorite of travelers to the US, with infamous Alcatraz, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and popular Fisherman’s Wharf, you’ll find plenty to see and do. It’s a city with mass appeal, whether you’re a first timer, or a repeat visitor.
First timers should definitely spend some time exploring the city itself, before heading out to all of the big sights. The streets themselves are an adventure, with cable cars offering easy transport about town. Head over to Union Square and do some shopping, visit the theater and pop into one of the cafes for a coffee and watch the people go by. Head to Chinatown or Little Italy for something to eat and soak up their vibrant atmosphere before visiting Telegraph Hill and the Coit Tower in North Beach, and the Civic Center area.
Next, head over to the Golden Gate Bridge. Where, weather permitting, you’ll be sure to enjoy beautiful views and plenty of Kodak moments. Many choose to cycle across it if the weather is good, spending time in both the Golden Gate area and Marin Country, at either end of its span. A tour of Alcatraz is another must do; with only one company allowed to use the dock on the island. During the tour you’ll get to go inside the prison and see the original cells, mess hall and library used by the prison inmates such as Al Capone, George ‘Machine Gun’ Kelly and Robert Stroud, The Birdman of Alcatraz.
Fisherman’s Wharf is another popular area of San Francisco, close to Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, it’s included in approx. 75% of itineraries for visitors to San Francisco. Here you’ll find Pier 39, lounging sea lions, fishing boats, restaurants, shops and more. PIER39 is the main entertainment complex of the wharf, and here you’ll find two levels dedicated to eating, drinking and enjoying yourself, all with views out over the bay. If it all gets a bit much, head outside, pick up some chips or some chowder and wander through the souvenir shops, or take a walk along the bay.
