ACS Makes Headlines with Private Jets of World Leaders Study

This May, ACS published a study comparing the private jets of world leaders. The analysis made global headlines and garnered millions of views. Here’s what you can expect next.

ACS charters over 10,000 flights annually from 20 offices across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, CIS, Middle East and Asia. We specialize in private jet, cargo and group charters, with clients that include heads of state on government charters, affluent travelers on family vacations and humanitarian organizations sending aid during times of crisis.

Our team of researchers combed through countless government archives and leveraged on-the-ground contacts to gather local intelligence for the Private Jets of World Leaders study. Through our research, we were able to assemble precise data on the exact models and number of aircraft in each world leader’s fleet.

The comparative analysis had some surprising results. The largest fleet in the study belongs to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and contains 68 airplanes and 64 helicopters in all. The most expensive fleet went to Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, whose aircraft are valued at over $1.5 billion. The oldest personal aircraft in the study belongs to President of the United States of America Donald Trump, who flies in Air Force One, which is more than a quarter of a century old. The most frugal leader in the study was General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping, who doesn’t own a personal aircraft. Instead, he charters airplanes from Air China. The planes are modified for his personal trips and then returned to the state and used as regular passenger aircraft. You can read about the world leaders in the study here.

Results and Awards

It wasn’t just ACS’s readers who found these details interesting. Our research was featured in some of the top news publications in the world, including USA Today, Business Insider, The Telegraph, Daily Mail and The Independent, as well as Russian sites Mail.Ru, Wek.ru and Nur.kz. There have been over 1.5 million views to date, and this figure continues to rise.

The study was honored with awards for the Best Blog and Best Use of PR at this year’s US Drum Content Awards. The piece was also selected as a finalist for nearly a dozen awards in the UK and the United States, including the Most Innovative Campaign at the UK Search Awards, the Best Use of Content Marketing at the US Search Awards and Best Out-of-Home Campaign at the Drum Content Awards.

Plans and Future Development

The popularity of our world leaders study tells us that readers are eager to learn more about the way our world leaders are traveling. To meet the demand, our team has begun researching a new group of leaders and will be expanding the analysis accordingly. These new rulers will include Pope Francis, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, South African President Jacob Zuma, South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and more.

As updates take place in the world of government aircraft, we’ll be watching. Our researchers are working to keep the report up-to-date and will relay all important updates to you.
